US Stocks Move: Netflix Surges Over 11%, Withdraws from Bidding for Warner Bros.Gelonghui, February 27th|Netflix (NFLX.US) surged over 11% to $94.43, marking its largest gain since January 2025. According to reports, Netflix has withdrawn from the bidding war to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, paving the way for rival Paramount SkyDance to finalize the $111 billions deal. In a statement, Netflix said: "The deal we previously negotiated could have created shareholder value and had a clear path to regulatory approval. However, we have always maintained discipline. At the price required to match Paramount SkyDance's latest offer, the deal is no longer financially attractive, so we declined to follow Paramount SkyDance's bid." Paramount's latest offer is $31 per share, which also includes Warner Bros.'s cable networks such as CNN and TNT. Paramount also promised to provide Warner Bros. with $2.8 billions to pay the termination fee owed to Netflix.

Vitalik Publishes Article Outlining Ethereum’s Short-Term and Long-Term Scaling PlansPANews reported on February 27 that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin shared on social media the short-term and long-term plans for Ethereum scaling. In terms of short-term scaling, the upcoming Glamsterdam upgrade will introduce block-level access lists to enable parallel validation, as well as the ePBS feature. At the same time, a multidimensional Gas mechanism will be introduced, adding a "state creation Gas" dimension, which will not be counted towards the approximately 16 million transaction Gas limit, allowing for the creation of larger contracts. The EVM will maintain two invariants and handle multidimensional Gas consumption through a "reserve pool" mechanism. In the long term, it will move towards a multidimensional pricing model. Long-term scaling includes two parts: ZK-EVM and Blobs. On the Blobs side, PeerDAS will continue to iterate, with the goal of reaching about 8 MB/s data processing capacity. In the future, Ethereum block data will go directly into Blobs. For ZK-EVM, the rollout will be phased: in 2026, clients allowing validators to participate using ZK-EVM will appear, but this will not be sufficient for the network to run fully; in 2027, a larger proportion of the network will be recommended to run ZK-EVM, with a focus on formal verification and security improvements; when ready, the network will shift to a 3-of-5 mandatory proof system, where a block must contain 3 out of 5 types of proofs from different proving systems to be valid. At that point, it is expected that all nodes (except indexing nodes) will rely on ZK-EVM proofs.

NASA has decided to cancel the upgrade plans for the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and will shift its strategic focus to increasing the rocket's launch frequency. This major adjustment directly affects Boeing's $2 billion Exploration Upper Stage (EUS) contract. NASA stated that this move aims to optimize resource allocation and prioritize the launch cadence of key missions such as the Artemis lunar program. The original upgrade plan included developing a more powerful upper stage to increase payload capacity, but this has now been replaced by the more urgent goal of increasing flight frequency. Industry observers point out that this decision could have a significant impact on Boeing's aerospace business segment. As the primary contractor for the SLS rocket core stage, this contract adjustment may trigger a restructuring of subsequent commercial negotiations.
