OP Labs announces the introduction of protocol upgrades to enhance on-chain security incident response capabilities
Bitget2024/01/26 00:57
The official announcement from OP Labs states that they are introducing a proposed protocol upgrade to enhance the security incident response capabilities of all OP chains. This is a security upgrade specifically for L1 smart contracts and should not affect nodes or client software execution, nor should it impact node operators and users. The upgrade will introduce a new [SuperchainConfig] contract, which includes a "pause" variable, providing stronger security guarantees for all ETH, ERC-20 and ERC-721 tokens stored in standard cross-chain bridges. The Optimism Foundation's multi-signature will have the authority to pause and cancel any withdrawal transactions on all OP chains.
