MetaMask Tests Mastercard Payment Cards Across the Chain
MetaMask is testing a Mastercard payment card that is being billed as the first fully on-chain based card. According to marketing materials viewed by CoinDesk, the payment card will allow users to make everyday purchases in cryptocurrency wherever card payments are accepted.MetaMask is the most popular cryptocurrency wallet on the ethereum blockchain, with more than 30 million monthly active users.Mastercard, on the other hand, provides key support in the traditional financial system through its worldwide credit and debit card network MetaMask's payment card with Mastercard will be "the first ever truly decentralized Web3 payment solution". Recently, Mastercard and its competitor Visa have been in contact with the public blockchain developer community and self-hosted wallet providers. Last October, CoinDesk reported that Mastercard has been working with hardware wallet company Ledger as well as MetaMask. Meanwhile, Visa has been working with the USDC stablecoin and Solana blockchain on cross-border payments as well as solving problems such as paying Ether Gas fees.
