Bitcoin Core Developer: Bitcoin Community Should Focus on Issues Such as Transaction Privacy and Decentralization
Matt Corallo, a core developer of Bitcoin, stated that the existence of untrustworthy parties in Bitcoin transactions is still a challenge and may undermine the decentralized nature of Bitcoin. Matt Corallo also discussed the increasing regulatory challenges as Bitcoin becomes more mainstream. He pointed out that there has been a significant shift in the ecosystem, with many participants now prioritizing investment security over the basic principles of non-KYC and decentralized payments. Matt Corallo criticized the community for focusing on securities reform rather than more pressing issues such as transaction privacy and decentralization. "We wasted it, consumed all the political capital of cryptocurrency, pushing for securities reform to ensure token issuance (possibly) legal, rather than trying to ensure that people can make meaningful transactions without attracting global attention," he said.
