Nigeria plans to establish AI and blockchain research centers across the country
Nigerian government has announced plans to establish research centers in six geopolitical zones across the country, with a focus on emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, and blockchain, through the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). According to local media reports, Kashifu Inuwa, the Director-General of NITDA, announced this initiative at the opening ceremony of the West African IoT Conference held in Lagos. Inuwa, represented by Aristotle Onumo, NITDA's Director of Enterprise Planning and Strategy, emphasized the agency's commitment to developing a robust technology research ecosystem.
