Fed keeps benchmark interest rate unchanged
The U.S. Federal Reserve ended its two-day monetary policy meeting on 31 July local time, announcing that it would keep the target range for the federal funds rate unchanged between 5.25% and 5.5%. This is the eighth consecutive meeting since September last year, the Fed maintained interest rates unchanged, in line with market expectations.
