Solana Foundation Executive Director: Being able to coordinate patches does not equate to centralization
Solana Foundation Executive Director Dan Albert responded to doubts about network decentralization. He stated that being able to coordinate patches does not mean the Solana network is centralized. On August 9, a serious vulnerability was discovered by Solana's verification nodes and was coordinated behind the scenes for repair to avoid network collapse. The distribution and coordination of patches were carried out behind the scenes. Albert emphasized that this should not be confused with centralization. He pointed out that there are 1,500 block production nodes worldwide, operated by numerous individuals, and the patch is open source; thus, characteristics of network decentralization still exist.
