U.S. stocks opened higher, with all three major indexes closing up more than 1 percent

U.S. stocks opened high, the three major indexes closed up more than 1%, the Dow rose 1.2%, the S&P 500 index rose 1.16%, the Nasdaq rose 1.16%.
