Greeks.live: ethereum rally more feeble this week, options expiration position less than 30% of bitcoin
On October 18, Greeks.live macro analyst Adam released data showing that 11,000 BTC options expired with a Put Call Ratio of 0.78, a maximum pain point of $64,000 and a notional value of $1.26 billion.
138,000 ETH options expired with a Put Call Ratio of 0.61, a maximum pain of $2,500 and a notional value of $360 million.
Bitcoin rebounded significantly this week, while ethereum's rebound was more feeble. This week's expiring ethereum options position is less than 30% of bitcoin's, and in terms of implied volatility, ETH's flat option IV around January is only 4% higher than BTC's, and it continues to go lower.
