Vietnamese police arrest four suspects in cryptocurrency mining scam
on January 5th, Vietnamese police arrested four suspects involved in cryptocurrency mining fraud. The fraud stole 4 billion Vietnamese dong (157,300 US dollars) from more than 200 victims. The criminal suspects, led by Chen Mingguang, developed a fraudulent cryptocurrency mining website called BitMiner, which was registered under a Singaporean domain name. The group claimed to be a cryptocurrency mining company headquartered in Dubai and promised unrealistic investment returns.
