Musk: The earliest possible reduction of $4 billion in government spending could be achieved this weekend
Elon Musk posted on his social media platform X, stating that he cautiously optimistically believes the goal of reducing government spending by $4 billion a day will be achieved this weekend. He previously calculated in a post that if the federal deficit for fiscal year 2026 is to be reduced from $2 trillion to $1 trillion, then it would need to decrease by $4 billion every day. He admits this goal is ambitious, but cutting the deficit in half will stimulate economic growth and prevent inflation.
