Goldman Sachs: Hedge funds' net selling of U.S. equities hits biggest in seven weeks
On 24 March, Goldman Sachs reported on its prime brokerage business for the week ending 21 March that net selling by hedge funds in US individual stocks reached its highest level in seven weeks, with short-selling outpacing long-buying. In terms of sectors, 8 out of 11 U.S. sectors were net sellers, led by industrials, consumer non-essentials, information technology, healthcare, and real estate. Meanwhile, financials, energy and materials were the only three sectors that were net buyers.
