U.S. Senator Lummis Proposes Government Use Gold Certificates to Purchase Bitcoin to Ease National Debt Burden
U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis stated on the CoinDesk Spotlight program that if the U.S. government purchases Bitcoin using gold certificates, the book value of which is still calculated as of 1974, "we could halve the national debt in 20 years." Lummis emphasized, "We don't need to spend additional taxpayer money to purchase Bitcoin."
