The three major U.S. stock indices collectively closed lower, with the Dow Jones down 0.61%, accumulating a weekly decline of 2.47%; the Nasdaq fell 1%, with a weekly decline of 2.46%; and the S&P 500 index dropped 0.67%, with a weekly decline of 2.61%. Popular tech stocks generally fell, with Apple down over 3%, and Nvidia, Microsoft, Google, and Meta down over 1%. The cryptocurrency and consumer electronics sectors led the declines, with Canaan Technology down over 9%, Coin down over 3%, AMD down nearly 3%, and Intel down over 2%.
