Craig Wright Still Owes $143 Million Two Years After Kleiman Verdict
Bitget2025/06/25 02:01According to ChainCatcher, citing a report from Protos, nearly two years after the court ruling, Craig Wright has still not paid the $143 million in compensation. Ira Kleiman, the brother of Wright’s late friend and business partner Dave Kleiman, claims that the attorneys responsible for recovering the funds have made no attempt to “enforce sanctions.”
In court documents filed last month, Kleiman stated that a “stay order” issued by the attorneys on June 5, 2024, suspended the deadline for Wright to pay the fees, which has been used to delay the recovery of millions of dollars. Kleiman alleges that despite his repeated requests, the attorneys “refused to meaningfully pursue sanctions,” undermining the ability to locate and secure assets. He added, “This delay has allowed Wright to evade accountability, despite the court’s explicit order.”
