Federal Reserve Governor Bowman: The Fed's Independence in Monetary Policy Is Critically Important
According to a report by Jinse Finance, Federal Reserve Governor Michelle Bowman stated on Tuesday that it is "extremely important" for the Fed to set monetary policy without political interference. In an interview with CNBC, Bowman said, "It is very important for us to maintain independence in monetary policy. However, as part of that independence, we also have an obligation to ensure transparency and accountability. In my view, we are obligated to listen to a wide range of voices, to understand how others perceive the economy, and how that will influence our decisions in setting monetary policy."
