Base team under a certain exchange launches token and governance research positions, officially advancing decentralization plans
Jinse Finance reported that the Ethereum Layer 2 network Base, under a certain exchange, is currently recruiting a "Token & Governance Research Specialist," indicating that it is formally planning token issuance and a decentralization roadmap. This position is responsible for formulating potential token objectives for the Base ecosystem and advancing governance decentralization in stages, including designing governance systems, drafting the "Base Charter," establishing on-chain voting mechanisms, and community participation processes. Previously, Base lead Jesse Pollak and the exchange's CEO Brian Armstrong both stated that the team is "exploring the issuance of a native token," marking a shift from the exchange's initial "no token plan" stance.
