Oracle responds: No delay in data center construction related to OpenAI
On December 13, it was reported that, according to media reports on Friday, due to labor and material shortages, a certain exchange (ORCL.N) would delay the construction of a data center related to OpenAI, with the timeline pushed from 2027 to 2028. However, the exchange later denied this report. Michael Egbert, a spokesperson for the exchange, stated in an email statement: "After signing the agreement, we have closely coordinated with OpenAI to determine the site selection and delivery schedule, and have reached a consensus. There has been no delay at any site required to fulfill contractual commitments, and all milestones are on track." He added: "We remain fully aligned with OpenAI and are confident in our ability to fulfill our contractual commitments and future expansion plans." After the response was released, the exchange's (ORCL.N) stock price recovered some of its losses.
