Sonic updates S token airdrop model, remaining 92.2 million tokens to be used for long-term incentives and burning
Foresight News reported that Sonic has released an update to its airdrop economic model. According to the results of community governance voting, approximately 190 million S tokens were initially minted. About 89,500,000 S were distributed in Season 1, around 6,000,000 S in Season 2, and approximately 2,800,000 S were distributed through the Kaito Campaign. Currently, Sonic Labs' treasury still holds about 92.2 million S tokens, which will continue to be used for airdrop incentive plans in 2026 and 2027. However, as the industry landscape evolves, Sonic will abandon the "one-size-fits-all" airdrop model and instead adopt a more targeted growth approach. It should be noted that there will be no additional airdrop issuance; the remaining tokens will be used for airdrops, rewards, or will be burned.
