Although Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum reached new all-time highs in 2025, they are preparing to end the year negatively.

The picture is different for altcoins, with most failing to meet expectations and dashing hopes for a rise.

Accordingly, Castle Labs data revealed that L1 tokens have generally underperformed this year.

According to the data, the most underperforming L1 altcoins are ranked as follows:

Ethereum (ETH) 15.3%
Solana (SOL) 35.9%
SUI 67.3%
Avalanche (AVAX) 67.9%
Toncoin (TON) 73.8%
Hyperliquid (HYPE) lost 6.5% of its value.

While most major altcoins, including Ethereum, have lost significant value, only two altcoins have risen and stood out.

Accordingly, only Binance Coin (BNB) and Tron (TRX) recorded an increase, rising by 18.2% and 9.8% respectively.
