Flow Community Governance Committee Completes Recovery of Counterfeit FLOW Tokens

The Flow Community Governance Committee has completed the recovery of counterfeit FLOW tokens that had not been liquidated on CEXs. The relevant tokens have now been isolated and storage-restricted on-chain, pending destruction. The permanent destruction of the counterfeit tokens is scheduled for January 30, 2026. In addition, the Foundation has today revoked the extra access permissions granted to the Community Governance Committee for the recovery operation. Previously, Flow released a review report on the attack incident, stating that attackers exploited a network vulnerability to forge tokens and steal approximately $3.9 million across chains, but did not affect legitimately held assets. The vast majority of counterfeit assets have been stored on-chain or frozen by exchange partners.
