Google will provide $2 million in funding to the Sundance Institute to support AI training for artists.
PANews, January 21 — According to Google’s official blog, Google.org, the philanthropic arm of Google, will provide $2 million in funding to the Sundance Institute, and, together with The Gotham and Film Independent, establish the “AI Literacy Alliance.” The initiative aims to provide basic AI skills training to over 100,000 artists and promote the creation of a community-led film and television AI education ecosystem. The project includes online courses, scholarships, AI creator awards and grant programs, as well as the co-creation of industry standards, emphasizing that AI should serve human creativity rather than replace it.
