US Construction Spending Sees Modest Growth in October
According to a recent report from the US Census Bureau, construction expenditures in the United States climbed to $2.18 trillion in October, marking a 0.5% increase from September’s total of $2.16 trillion. The data for both months was published together after a delay caused by the government shutdown.
Despite the monthly rise, October's spending represented a 1% decrease compared to the same period last year. Private construction investments amounted to $1.65 trillion, reflecting a 0.6% uptick over September. The residential sector experienced a 1.3% boost, reaching $913.9 billion in October, up from $902.3 billion the previous month. Nonresidential construction figures were also reported, contributing to the overall trend.
