Phillips Connect and McLeod Software Unveil Real-Time Smart Trailer Integration

Phillips Connect has introduced a new partnership with McLeod Software, enabling real-time smart trailer data to be accessed directly within the McLeod Transportation Management System (TMS).

This collaboration provides fleets with essential information such as tire condition, lighting and brake status, trailer location, and advanced AI-driven cargo analytics. These insights empower fleet operators to gain a more comprehensive understanding of their assets and operations.

Now available to fleets throughout North America, this solution tackles a persistent issue in the industry—trailers often being overlooked as mere “boxes on wheels,” which can lead to operational blind spots and unnecessary expenses.

This initiative is Phillips Connect’s initial move in a larger strategy to integrate smart trailer data into the platforms that fleets already rely on. The company’s CargoVision technology uses artificial intelligence and camera systems to give planners and dispatchers a clear view of trailer contents, including volume measurements that enhance load planning for partial shipments and multi-stop routes.

Mike Narkys, president of MNS1—the first fleet to implement this integration—shared, “Having Phillips Connect’s smart trailer information flow straight into McLeod has transformed our operations. Our team can instantly assess trailer capacity and quickly determine which units are ready for use.”

Ahmed Ebrahim, McLeod Software’s senior vice president of strategic partnerships and integrations, noted that the integration offers shared customers deeper visibility into their networks, enabling more effective fleet planning.

Todd Hodges, director of product management at Phillips Connect, emphasized that when trailer data is available within trusted platforms, trailers become “active participants in fleet strategy.” He added, “This is just the beginning—future integrations will continue to advance trailer intelligence for fleets, regardless of the software they use.”
