Retail Sales Trends in Late 2025
During the final quarter of 2025 (October to December), the total volume of retail goods purchased declined by 0.3% compared to the previous quarter (July to September). Both supermarkets and online retailers experienced decreased sales after a particularly strong third quarter.
Looking at monthly figures, retail sales volumes increased by 0.4% in December 2025. This followed a 0.1% decrease in November and a revised 0.8% drop in October. Notably, online retailers saw their sales volumes rebound in December after consecutive declines in the two prior months, with online jewellery sellers contributing to the improvement.
