Retail Sales See Significant Growth in November
In November, retail sales climbed by 1.3%, reaching a total of $70.4 billion. The majority of retail sectors—eight out of nine—reported higher sales, with food and beverage stores experiencing the most notable gains. When excluding gasoline stations, fuel vendors, and automotive dealers, core retail sales advanced by 1.6% for the month. Adjusted for volume, overall retail sales grew by 1.1% in November.
After two months of declines, core retail sales rebounded, rising 1.6%. The food and beverage sector contributed most to this growth, posting a 3.0% increase. Within this category, beer, wine, and liquor retailers stood out with a remarkable 14.3% surge in sales during November.
