SEC and CFTC Issue New Joint Announcement in Favor of Cryptocurrencies!
In the US, cryptocurrency research continues unabated, and officials are also collaborating on projects.
At this point, the latest news comes from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Commission (CFTC).
Accordingly, the SEC and CFTC are preparing to hold a joint event next Tuesday.
According to official statements, the SEC and CFTC will hold a joint public meeting to review the regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies.
The SEC announced that SEC Chairman Paul Atkins and CFTC Chairman Michael Selig will co-host an event at CFTC headquarters in Washington, D.C., on the 28th.
In a joint statement by SEC Chair Atkins and CFTC Chair Selig, it was stated, “Market participants have been forced to navigate regulatory boundaries that are vague in practice and inconsistent in design, relying solely on the silo structure of existing legal jurisdictions. This event will advance our broader harmonization efforts to ensure that innovation takes root on American soil, within American laws, and in the service of American investors, consumers, and economic leadership.”
The meeting will reportedly discuss how to work to fulfill President Donald Trump’s directives to make the US the capital of cryptocurrency and to create crypto-friendly US policies.
This event underscores the regulatory bodies’ commitment to advancing the country’s position in the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency space.
