Soybean Market Update: Modest Gains Observed

Soybean futures are experiencing slight increases of 2 to 3 cents in the leading contracts as of Friday morning. The previous trading session ended with minor fluctuations, and open interest rose by 9,270 contracts. The national average cash price for soybeans, according to cmdtyView, remained unchanged at $9.94. Soybean meal futures advanced by 60 cents to $4.80 per ton, while soybean oil futures declined by 11 to 23 points.

The USDA announced a private sale of 192,350 metric tons of soybeans to undisclosed buyers on Thursday.

Export Sales figures are expected soon, with analysts predicting soybean sales for the week of January 15 to range between 1.5 and 3 million metric tons. Last week’s daily announcements totaled 1.403 million metric tons. Projections for soybean meal sales are between 200,000 and 500,000 metric tons, while soybean oil sales are anticipated to be between 5,000 and 25,000 metric tons.

According to ABIOVE, Brazil’s soybean crush is forecasted at 61 million metric tons, an increase of 2.5 million metric tons from the previous year, with the national crop estimated at 177.12 million metric tons. Brazilian soybean exports for 2026 are projected at 111.5 million metric tons, up 3.3 million metric tons year-over-year.
