Glonghui, January 25th—According to Korean media reports, Samsung Electronics has raised the supply price of NAND flash memory by more than 100% in the first quarter of this year, a surge that far exceeds previous market expectations and highlights the current severe supply-demand imbalance in the semiconductor market. Industry insiders cited by these media outlets revealed that Samsung Electronics completed supply contract negotiations with major clients at the end of last year and officially implemented the new pricing system starting in January. This move comes after DRAM memory prices reportedly rose by nearly 70%, marking another significant pricing shift in the storage market. Reports indicate that Samsung Electronics has already begun a new round of negotiations with clients regarding NAND prices for the second quarter, and the market widely anticipates that the upward pricing trend will continue into the second quarter.
