What is causing the decline of the US Dollar
The Dollar’s Rapid Decline: Market Responses Unveiled
The US Dollar has been dropping quickly, which aligns with my earlier prediction that 2026 would mark a renewed period of Dollar weakness following last year’s brief pause. What stands out is how selective the markets are in their reactions. Despite significant challenges to the Federal Reserve—such as attempts to oust Lisa Cook and the looming possibility of criminal charges against Chair Powell—the markets remained largely unfazed. This indifference is noteworthy, but as market participants often say, that’s just the way things go.
However, last week’s developments regarding Greenland proved to be a turning point. The Dollar experienced a steep decline, a trend that appears to be gaining momentum. The current situation shares many parallels with previous market episodes, suggesting that this story is still unfolding.
