Microsoft approved to build 15 additional data centers in Wisconsin

The additional data center capacity will enable Microsoft to recognize revenue already booked from OpenAI and other clients. Amazon, Google, and Oracle are competing with Microsoft to build data centers equipped with Nvidia chips to train and run generative artificial intelligence models. Finding suitable locations for these facilities is challenging, as utility companies cannot always provide the necessary power.
