CoinWorld News: According to Coinpost, Japanese Web3 company HashPort, which previously developed the digital wallet for the Osaka Kansai Expo, will launch a fee-free stablecoin payment service on January 28. This service leverages blockchain technology to eliminate the merchant fee burden typically associated with traditional cashless payments. Users can simply scan the merchant's QR code using HashPort's wallet app to pay with their stablecoins. Merchants only need to download the app and register an account to access the system, with no usage or registration fees required. HashPort initially plans to target foreign tourists holding stablecoins for use in restaurants and similar venues.
