American Airlines Reports Fourth-Quarter Financial Results
American Airlines Group Inc., headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, announced a net profit of $99 million for the fourth quarter.
The company reported earnings of $0.15 per share, with adjusted earnings—excluding one-time expenses—coming in at $0.16 per share.
These figures fell short of analyst projections. According to Zacks Investment Research, eight analysts had anticipated earnings of $0.38 per share.
During the quarter, American Airlines generated $14 billion in revenue, which also missed expectations. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks had forecasted revenue of $14.07 billion.
Outlook for the Upcoming Quarter and Year
Looking ahead to the quarter ending in March, the airline anticipates a per-share loss ranging from $0.50 to $0.10.
For the full year, American Airlines projects earnings between $1.70 and $2.70 per share.

Since the start of the year, American Airlines shares have declined by 5%. Over the past twelve months, the stock has dropped by 14%.
