Bitcoin Layer 2 Citrea Mainnet Based on Zero-Knowledge Proofs Officially Launched
Show original
According to CoinWorld, the Bitcoin Layer 2 project Citrea, supported by Founders Fund and Galaxy, has officially launched its mainnet and native stablecoin ctUSD. This zero-knowledge shared (zkEVM) platform, built by Chainway Labs, aims to support native Bitcoin financial applications such as Bitcoin-collateralized loans and structured products. Citrea settles and shares data directly using Bitcoin, and its zkEVM architecture supports Ethereum-compatible smart contracts. The ctUSD stablecoin is issued by MoonPay and technically supported by M0, and will be fully backed by short-term US Treasury bonds and cash.
