Hungarian Central Bank Governor: Considering Increasing the Proportion of Gold in Foreign Reserves
Show original
Jinse Finance reported that the Hungarian central bank announced it would keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 6.5%, continuing to implement a tight monetary policy to maintain financial market stability and is committed to sustainably achieving the 3% CPI target. Although the inflation outlook remains uncertain, the central bank will assess interest rate decisions at each meeting in a cautious, data-driven manner. Hungarian central bank governor Varga stated that Hungary may consider increasing the proportion of gold in the central bank's reserves. He pointed out that the depreciation of the forint helps to limit the rise in import prices.
