Foresight News reported, according to BlockSec analysis, the root cause of the SwapNet and Aperture Finance hacking incidents was that the victim contracts exposed arbitrary call capabilities due to insufficient input validation, allowing attackers to abuse existing token approvals and invoke transferFrom to steal assets.
As previously reported by Foresight News, SwapNet and Aperture Finance suffered a loss of $17 million due to security vulnerabilities on January 26.
