Lam Research Reports Strong Second-Quarter Earnings

Lam Research Corp., headquartered in Fremont, California, announced a net income of $1.59 billion for its fiscal second quarter.

The company reported earnings of $1.26 per share, or $1.27 per share after adjusting for special items.

These results exceeded analysts’ expectations, as a consensus of 10 analysts polled by Zacks Investment Research had predicted earnings of $1.17 per share.

Lam Research, a leading manufacturer of semiconductor equipment, also posted revenue of $5.34 billion for the quarter, outperforming the $5.23 billion forecasted by seven Zacks analysts.

Outlook for the Next Quarter

Looking ahead to the quarter ending in March, the company anticipates earnings per share to fall between $1.25 and $1.45.

Projected revenue for the fiscal third quarter is expected to range from $5.4 billion to $6 billion.
