Whirlpool Reports Fourth-Quarter Earnings
Whirlpool Corporation, headquartered in Benton Harbor, Michigan, announced a net income of $108 million for the fourth quarter.
The company’s earnings translated to $1.91 per share, while adjusted earnings, which exclude one-time items, came in at $1.10 per share.
These figures did not meet analysts’ expectations. According to a survey by Zacks Investment Research involving four analysts, the consensus estimate was $1.54 per share.
Whirlpool, known for brands such as Maytag and KitchenAid, generated $4.1 billion in revenue during the quarter, which was below the $4.27 billion anticipated by three Zacks analysts.
For the entire fiscal year, Whirlpool reported a profit of $318 million, or $5.66 per share, on total revenue of $15.52 billion.
Looking ahead, the company projects full-year earnings of $7 per share, with expected revenue ranging from $15.3 billion to $15.6 billion.
