Visa Reports Strong First-Quarter Earnings
Visa Inc., headquartered in San Francisco, announced a net profit of $5.85 billion for its fiscal first quarter.
The company reported earnings of $3.03 per share. After accounting for special items, adjusted earnings reached $3.17 per share.
These results surpassed analysts' expectations, as the consensus among 14 analysts polled by Zacks Investment Research had projected earnings of $3.14 per share.
Visa also exceeded revenue forecasts, generating $10.9 billion during the quarter. In comparison, 12 analysts surveyed by Zacks had anticipated revenue of $10.7 billion.
