Monday Blues: The Value of Precious Metals Dips
Dollar Starts the Week with Mixed Performance
As the new week and month get underway, the US dollar is showing a varied performance. While some of the momentum from last Friday’s surge has carried over, the market is now showing signs of consolidation. The dollar continues to advance against the Canadian dollar, Norwegian krone, and Swiss franc, while remaining mostly unchanged versus the Japanese yen.
Among emerging market currencies, results are mixed. Most Asian currencies are trending lower, but the Indian rupee stands out, gaining approximately 0.5% after the weekend’s budget announcement led to higher rates.
Meanwhile, geopolitical tensions have subsided as the US and Iran engage in dialogue, leading to a sharp drop in oil prices. Precious metals have also experienced a significant decline.
