Alphabet Surpasses Earnings Expectations in Fourth Quarter
Alphabet Inc., headquartered in Mountain View, California, announced its fourth-quarter earnings on Wednesday, revealing a total profit of $34.46 billion.
The company reported earnings of $2.82 per share, outperforming the consensus forecast of $2.57 per share from 16 analysts polled by Zacks Investment Research.
Alphabet, a leader in online search, generated $113.83 billion in revenue for the quarter. After accounting for advertising commissions, the adjusted revenue stood at $97.23 billion, which also surpassed analyst projections. Eleven Zacks analysts had anticipated $94.79 billion in revenue.
