Glonghui, February 5th|Amazon announced that the company’s CEO Andy Jassy will appoint Dharmesh Mehta, Vice President of Worldwide Selling Partner Services, as Technical Advisor starting in March. This position, often referred to internally as “Shadow Advisor,” mainly involves accompanying the CEO to almost all meetings, assisting in strategic decision-making, removing organizational obstacles, and providing technical and operational support. The term for this position is typically 18 to 24 months and is often regarded as a training channel for the company’s top leadership. Jassy himself previously served as founder Jeff Bezos’s Shadow Advisor in the early 2000s, later becoming head of AWS and eventually taking over as CEO of Amazon. In addition, the current Shadow Advisor, Alex Dunlap, will move to another leadership role, indicating that the position continues to follow a rotation system and talent development orientation.
