ECB Maintains Interest Rates Amid Global Uncertainty
The Governing Council has opted to leave the three main ECB interest rates at their current levels. Their latest review confirms expectations that inflation will settle around the 2% target over the medium term.
Despite a complex international backdrop, the euro area economy continues to demonstrate strength. Factors such as historically low unemployment, robust private sector finances, increased government investment in defence and infrastructure, and the positive impact of earlier rate reductions are all contributing to ongoing economic growth.
Nevertheless, the future remains unpredictable, largely due to persistent uncertainties in global trade policies and heightened geopolitical risks.
