Gary Bode: Bitcoin's 50% Drop Is a Non-Systemic Crisis
Show original
Hedge fund veteran Gary Bode stated that bitcoin’s nearly 50% decline reflects its inherent volatility and the market’s misinterpretation of Federal Reserve policy, rather than any structural weakness. He believes the market misread the signal of Kevin Warsh being nominated as a Federal Reserve official, which triggered a wave of sell-offs. At the same time, margin calls and profit-taking by large holders also contributed to the drop. Bode pointed out that whale sell-offs, pressure on strategies, and the growth of “paper” bitcoin may impact prices in the short term, but will not change bitcoin’s limited supply or its long-term investment logic as a volatile store of value.
