Justin Bieber once bought a Bored Ape NFT for $1.3 million, now it's worth only $12,000

Jinse Finance reported that pop music superstar Justin Bieber purchased Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT #3001 in January 2022 for 500 ETH (approximately $1.3 million at the time), becoming one of the most high-profile members of this renowned NFT community. Four years later, as the NFT market has cooled, the valuation of this NFT, which has average attributes within the series, has dropped to about $12,000, a decline of over 99% from its purchase price. Reportedly, the floor price of this series once soared to $429,000 (April 2022) a few months after Bieber's purchase, but the prolonged "NFT winter" subsequently led to an overall market downturn. The floor prices of other leading projects, such as CryptoPunks and Pudgy Penguins, have also fallen from highs of over $400,000 and nearly $100,000 to around $60,000 and $8,850, respectively. According to market prediction platform Myriad, users lack confidence in a short-term rebound for these three major NFT series, with only a 16% probability predicted for them to return to historical highs before July this year. Despite the market downturn, issuer Yuga Labs continues to advance related ecosystem development, including building an offline members club in Miami and ongoing development of the metaverse game Otherside.
