Barclays Reports Strong Fourth-Quarter Results
Barclays PLC announced a net income of $1.59 billion for the fourth quarter, according to figures released on Tuesday.
The London-headquartered financial institution recorded earnings of 46 cents per share during this period.
Total revenue for the quarter reached $9.41 billion, with net revenue after interest expenses also totaling $9.41 billion—surpassing analysts' expectations.
For the full year, Barclays achieved a profit of $8.14 billion, translating to $2.23 per share, while annual revenue stood at $38.42 billion.
Since the start of the year, Barclays' stock price has increased by 3%. As of the close of trading on Tuesday, shares were valued at $26.24, reflecting a 75% surge over the past year.
