NZ Survey of Expectations – February 2025
This quarter, the Survey of Expectations went into the field on 26 January 2026, following Stats NZ’s Consumers Price Index (CPI) release on 23 January 2026. Annual CPI inflation for the December 2025 quarter was 3.1%, up from 3.0% in the September 2025 quarter. A total of 41 responses from business leaders and professional forecasters were received in the March 2026 quarter. Short- and medium-term CPI inflation expectations The mean one-year-ahead annual inflation expectation increased by 20 basis points, from 2.39% to 2.59%.
