US core CPI annual rate hits nearly 5-year low, spot gold surges over $20 in the short term

According to Odaily, the US January unadjusted core CPI annual rate fell from 2.6% to 2.5%, hitting a new low since March 2021 and meeting market expectations. After the CPI data was released, according to data from a certain exchange, spot gold surged more than $20 in the short term and is now quoted at $4,993.65 per ounce.
