Peter Thiel has fully exited his stake in Ethereum treasury company ETHZilla by the end of 2025.
BlockBeats News, February 18, according to SEC's 13G filing, as of December 31, 2025, Peter Thiel has completely exited his holdings in Ethereum treasury company ETHZilla. His stake was reduced from the previous 7.5% (about 11.59 million shares) to 0%.
Peter Thiel was once a major backer and significant shareholder of ETHZilla. The news of Thiel's investment once caused ETHZ's stock price to soar several times, and this event was also regarded as one of the signals of Thiel's optimism towards the Ethereum ecosystem.
However, as the crypto market continued to weaken, ETHZilla subsequently announced it would sell coins to repay debts, sell coins to purchase aerospace engines for leasing business, and has clearly stated that it will no longer use the treasury model of hoarding ETH as its main business.
