Glencore and the Democratic Republic of Congo's state mining company reach a land agreement; the commodity giant says the deal will boost output at its Kamoto Copper Company (KCC).

Glencore stated in a statement on Wednesday that KCC will lease a "package of long-term mining rights and leases" from the Congolese state-owned enterprise Gecamines. The statement said that this transaction will enable the subsidiary to expand the capacity of its tailings storage facilities and waste rock dumps.
